Formulation. Whole buds.

Content. Birch tree buds.

Characteristics. The buds contain ether oil, primary components of which are betulin, betulinic acid, caryophyllene; resins, tannins, flavonoids, saponins, macro- and microelements and other biologically active substances.

Description. The buds are elongated-conic, sharpened and dulled, often sticky.

Color of the buds is brownish, sometimes greenish at the base. The smell is balsamic, pleasant. Taste of aqueous extract is slightly tannic, resinous.

Pharmacotherapeutic group. Herbal diuretic.

Pharmacological effect. The concoction exerts diuretic as well as slight anti-inflammatory effect.

And anti-inflammatory drug.

Indications. Mildly and moderately expressed edemas of cardiac or renal origin.

Contraindications. Increased sensitivity to drug; chronic renal failure, acute glomerulonephritis; pregnancy, lactation, children younger than 12 years.

Dosage and administration. Place about 10 g (1 teaspoon) of buds in enameled ware, add 200 ml (1 glass) of hot boiled water, cover and heat on the boiling water bath for 15 minutes, then cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, filter and then squeeze remaining product. The resulting concoction is diluted with boiled water to 200 ml.

Take per os 1-2 teaspoons 3 times per day 30 minutes before the meal.

It is recommended to shake concoction before the use.

Adverse effects. In case of long-term use of the birch tree buds concoction the drug exerts irritant effect on renal tissues. Allergic reactions are possible.

Overdose. In case of using the drug in the doses that surpass recommended the increase of dose-dependent adverse effects is possible.

Effects on ability to drive and use machines. The drug does not affect ability to perform potentially dangerous activities, requiring increased attention and quick psychomotor reactions (including the driving, work with moving machines).

Presentation. Whole buds 50 g, 100 g in cardboard packs with internal paper bag. The text and instructions are completely printed on cardboard pack.

Storage conditions. Keep in the dry site protected from light; prepared concoction shall be kept in cool site for no longer than 2 days. Keep away from children.

Shelf-life. 2 years. Do not use after “Best before” date on the package.
